Offering a clear choice
Whatever kind of glass structure you’re planning, Vision AGI can recommend a suitable glass that is fabricated in the UK by the leading glass processors to the highest British and European Standards.
There are thousands of different glass specification combinations available. Glass specification helps control the environment within and can assist in the minimalism of the structure’s impact and / or creatively enhance the surrounding architecture.
There are a number of considerations when specifying the glass for any project, which we will be able to advise you on and guide you through, taking all your needs and requirements into account.
Each different type of glass has its specific function. Please see some of the different glass types & functions listed below:

Float Glass
Manufactured by floating molten glass on a bath of liquid tin to produce a perfectly flat surface on both sides, float glass is most commonly used in building developments.

Toughened Glass
Five times stronger than normal glass, toughened glass is often specified for larger structures.

Toughened HST Glass
Where glass is specified for features like canopies or balustrades, we will often recommend heat soak tested glass to reduce the possibility of fractures caused by nickel sulphide inclusions in the manufacturing process.

Coated Glass
To increase insulation, coated glass has very thin layers of metal oxides on the surface.

Heat Strengthened Glass
For overhead or sloping designs, heat strengthened glass can be used to add additional strength to the final structure.

Laminated Glass
For increased safety, sound insulation and UV protection, laminated glass can be specified.

Insulated Glass Units
With multiple layered glass panes, insulated glass units are a way to reduce energy costs, decrease condensation and increase sound insulation.
Finishes vary and can sometimes be utilised in multiple combinations. You may wish for the glass to be etched or obscured for added privacy or environmental impact. Perhaps coated for light / heat transmission properties and maintenance advantages. Or even annealed, anti-reflective, blast-resistant, bullet-resistant, curved, ceramic frit / enamelled, fused, opaque, patterned, polished, sand-blasted, screen printed, self-cleaning, tinted etc…the options within glass specifications are endless. The only limitation is your imagination.
Glass Face
Face is the term used to describe glass surfaces in numerical order from the exterior to the interior i.e.
Single Glass has 2 faces; Face 1 – Exterior face & Face 2 – Interior face.
Double Glazed Units have 4 faces; Face 1 Outer Pane Exterior face, Face 2 Outer Pane facing the Cavity, Face 3 Inner Pane facing the Cavity & Face 4 Inner Pane Interior face.
Triple Glazed Units follow the same pattern as above but have 6 faces.
Taking care of the smallest detail
While glass is the main feature in every structure we design and install, the additional elements required to fabricate the structure are equally important.
Aluminium
The aluminium used in our frames is manufactured in the UK to the highest standards and offers outstanding thermal insulation and security.
Silicone
We use the best quality silicone sealants from Dow Corning, tested for adhesion with coated surfaces and stainless steel finishes.
Hardware
The hardware and fixings used in the construction of our roof lights are specified to a minimum stainless steel grade A2.
